Yackety yack! I'm making the most of this, because the next month is going to be super-stressful. Lots of days where there'll be nothing to report: I'll be running around first thing making cups of tea for various workmen (double glazing installers and floor-laying joiners) then racing off to work work work work, back home just to conk out. Then when I get a day off I'll spent it mainly asleep, catching up on the sleep deficit.
I need at least eight hours sleep a day to function properly; nine is ideal. But if I get only six or seven hours sleep a few days running I have to catch up with a big sleep, ten hours or more, or I feel as though I have jetlag. Sleep sometimes seems an enormous waste of time, especially when I'm involved in something -- updating the website, reading a gripping book, out carousing -- and my eyes start drooping. More coffee!! More cigarettes!! I feel even more cheated when I wake up late after a late-night session and a beautiful day is half over.
I'm looking forward to only needing a few hours sleep a night when I'm old.
No ... you're right, nothing interesting to report today either. Um, there was a wagtail on the peanut feeder this morning, haven't seen one of those in my garden before. Its fame is spreading. "Yeah, she's got that black sunflower seed back again, and the lard nibbles actually grow on you after a while."
