In equally cheerful news, Wednesday was also the day the editor got the sack, to general rejoicing. The new editor will be the seventh I've worked under for this paper. Or is it eighth? Hard to keep track. Oh yes! It is the eighth -- I forgot one.

Another milestone on the road to Zimmer City: I'm old enough to be the new editor's mother. He's only 30.
