Sum total of work towards tidying the house today: plugged in the stereo. That's it. I really must start moving stuff down, but I'm so tired! All this walking, walking, walking ...

Two shortish walks today (one hour and twenty minutes), with plenty of off-leash romping. Bertie finally got the chance to chase a real live rabbit and made a hash of it. The rabbit got a head start and fled into a bramble patch.

I had another look at his ear tattoos and realised I'd read one of them upside down -- it says TV, not A.I. That would make him three, I think, which seems about right.

Next project on hand is building some shelves in my bedroom and in the livingroom, in the chimney alcoves. I'm going to get bare boards, sand and varnish them, and fix them with blocks of wood rather than brackets. I also need more freestanding bookshelves --- Ikea for that, I think. Then some kind of lighter drapes for the french doors. Oh, and I need to move all the furniture and books and stuff back down from upstairs and sort out the study and reformat the hard drive and reinstall all the software.

I'll start as soon as I've walked the dog ...
