It's fuh-reeeezing. Last week it was so balmy it was actually warmer here than on the Mediterranean. And now it's positively arctic. They're having blizzards further north, and in England too, but here it's just plain cold -- icy and clear. I like it -- sunshine is good, dry is good -- but it would have been nice to have some snow. I never used to bother much about the weather, but now I'm out walking three times a day it's become a real issue. A rain and wind combo makes me want to train Bertie to use a flush toilet, but a violent storm is thrilling. Fog is mysterious and great for photography, but a wet mist is just ... wet.

Depending on the weather I'm going on a hillwalking expedition this weekend, probably the Pentlands again. I need to get my fitness back up after a slackish few months.

I'm still dithering about Greece. I picked out the perfect place, but it's almost £500 once the single supplement is added. For a week that seems an awful lot ... but it is really lovely. I can't decide.
