ATLANTA (AP) – The mysterious and deadly flu-like illness from Asia that has stymied health officials around the world appears to be caused by a new variety of a common cold virus, US health officials said.
Nature strikes back, I guess. Imagine, an epidemic of the common cold sweeping the planet.
Another lovely spring day, just right for painting the shed doors. They're finished, hurrah! Brian the builder phoned to see how I liked them & I gave them high praise. And now they're blue! And finished! I'm all fired up now, and will dedicate many more days off to DIY projects. First off though, is to get the spouting fixed. It'll start raining sooner or later and I'm tired of the back yard filling up with water.
I'm on the late shift tonight, here until 2:30am or so to get the latest war news in the paper. They're printing the final edition and we "slip" pages in on the run. Our front page picture is of a US tank with "Apocolypse" [sic] stenciled on its gunbarrel. I hope not...
