Gullane Bents

Yesterday was sunny and windless, so Bertie and I headed for the beach. I had to go via the city anyway so kept on going and went to the Gullane Bents, which had been recommended as good for dogs. And so it was. Bertie doesn't like beaches that much -- it's too exposed, there are no rabbits, and he makes himself sick drinking seawater.

So after playing chase with some other dogs, barking at a few children and getting extremely hot, he was thrilled to get away into the dunes beyond the strand. It was wonderful, a brilliant place to walk. I take a dish and a litre of water with me on these expeditions, and he drank the lot.

We got home in the evening and I went out to get videos -- he wanted to come too. So we went for the third walk of the day, making a total of nearly four hours, including the late-night walk.

Today I'm working, bah -- it's perfect weather for sailing, too: nice breeze, hot sunshine. Heigh ho.

Tomorrow I'm helping Colin with his yacht for a couple of hours, then the double-glazing fellows are coming to fix the seal on the french doors, then I'm off to work.
