How annoying is this? I made an appointment with the doctor last week (women's problems, nothing serious) for this morning and was asked to take along a urine sample as I'm a new patient. So I was there for ages with a nurse, being weighed (84kg) and measured (1.something metres), having my blood pressure taken etc, and also quizzed on my medical history. (I was also interrogated about my neighbours and what happened to the lady I bought the house off -- I really am in a small town!) Finally the nurse said, "Right! So now you can go ahead and make an appointment with the doctor if you need to."
I thought I had made an appointment with the doctor.
Noooo .... I'd made an appointment to be weighed, measured, tested and interrogated.
So now I'm going to a "Well Woman Clinic" tomorrow. The thing is I don't even want to see a doctor, I just have to to get a referral to a gynaecologist at the Royal Infirmary, to ask about a new treatment I heard about on the radio. I tried to make an appointment direct, but I have to go via the GP, even though I've been before. It seems like a waste of resources to me -- certainly a waste of the doctor's time.
